That’s right, it’s time to organize. One thing that people want to see when they are out looking for their next home is that there are storage solutions and there is no shortage of them. If a prospect buyer walks into a home and sees clutter everywhere the first thing they are going to be thinking is that there is a storage issue. So organize, declutter, and find a solution. These could be small fixes like adding storage bins and shelves in a hall closet. Or it can range to something more like adding a mudroom closet to store all winter jackets. Secondly, remember not to spend money where you won’t see a return. If you are going to spend money to upgrade your home you want it to be positive sweat equity. The rooms where you make your money back plus some are always going to be the kitchen and bathroom. If you are going to get a line of credit to upgrade these areas in your home, it is usually a safe bet that you’ll get your money back (as long as you don’t make poor design choices). Upgrading the heart of the home, or what we call the kitchen, can bring you a huge return on your investment. Buyers are looking for upgraded kitchen spaces and with the market today they can demand that with the prices they are paying for houses. There are remodeling choices for both the bathroom and kitchen that don’t have to break the bank, but can make a huge impact on selling your home.
